Energy healing and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
by Sarah McLeod

Recently I became aware of an energy trapped in my body. Remember the old video game pong? Where the ball bounced back and forth between the two lines and the aim was to keep it moving and not let it go off the screen?

Well the energy was pinging back and forth between very tight perimeters and it was trapped. It was creating a ricochet in my system. I became aware that if I did not release it, that it was a perfect set up for Parkinson’s disease down the line as I aged. I also became aware that it was linked to a thought pattern that was self-destructive and that I didn’t like it at all. The thought pattern was uncomfortable and jabbing at me like a sharp piece of wood.

The source of the trapped energy was not apparent. It could have been any number of traumas, falls or impacts on my physical body. But it was clear that it needed to release and my body started to shake instinctively. The shaking rippled through my body for some time and it was if that motion was clearing it out of my body. Like shaking a rug to get the rumples out.

Once I was done shaking there was a deep sense of calm and my whole nervous system relaxed into a peaceful slumber. I knew that the energy had been released and that I was now free of the thought pattern that had been stuck on repeat in my subconscious – ruling the way I was functioning and interfacing with my waking hours.

This experience perked my interest in how energy is stuck in someone with PTSD and extreme trauma. I cannot speak from a place of experience when it comes to a veteran in a time of conflict,   but I can speak from a place of observation in someone who has.

My theory is that when a person experiences an extreme violation or trauma; the mind’s mechanism to deal with the life threatening situation or graphic visual and auditory imprint is to reduce the scope of the peripheral awareness to one that is extremely narrow. Thus the person is from that moment on, functioning from a place of limited bandwidth. There is an energetic ricochet in the organism that is linked to the mind stuck in a reoccurring loop of reliving the experience over and over again.

Imagine that we all have a holographic energy field and that for someone with PTSD, there is a glitch in the program, so that it is replaying the same segment of memory repeatedly.

So how to break that cycle? There are a number of modalities that can assist.

David Berceli, Ph.D. is the founder and creator of a technique called Tension and Trauma release Exercises or TRE®, and he has been having tremendous success with many people suffering PTSD.

You can read more about his work here: http://traumaprevention.com/

MAPS.orgl the multidisciplinary association for psychedelic studies is also doing extensive research on PTSD and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy.

A shaman would work with you to retrieve the piece of your spirit that has fragmented and bring you back to wholeness.

Find someone who can scan your energy field and work with you to free the boundaries of your awareness. Sending a gentle pulse wave through your system can initiate the shaking needed to vibrate the trauma out of your system. Your thinking can restore itself to optimal function and you can live a normal life again.

If you are suffering from PTSD, I would suggest that there is a way through! There is help available and to you. Do not lose heart! You do not need to stay stuck in that pain.
